| The Institute for Political
History, along with the Journal of Policy History, hosts
a biannual conference of scholars and others interested in the history
of American politics, public policy, and comparative historical
analysis. Scholars attending the conferences have been drawn from
the disciplines of History, Political Science, Sociology and the
other social sciences. Conferences have been held in Clayton, Missouri
in the spring of 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2008. The 2006 Policy History
Conference was held at the University of Virginia-Charlottesville
and was co-sponsored by the Institute for Political History, the
Journal of Policy History, and the Miller Center of Public
Affairs. In 2010, the Policy History Conference will be held June
3-6 in Columbus, Ohio. These conferences bring academy scholars,
independent scholars, and graduate students together to share their
research in public policy, American Political Development, and comparative
historical analysis. Many of these papers will eventually appear
in academic journals and other publications.
